Music Theory Classes

Beginning Music Theory for Teenagers ages 12-17 Wednesdays 10:00-10:45

Introduction to reading notes (Treble/Bass clefs) and understanding rhythmic notation. Key signatures, scale steps, intervals, scales (Major, Natural Minor, Harmonic Minor and Melodic Minor) building triads (Major, Minor, Diminished and Augmented) intro to chord progressions.


College Bound Music Theory ages 15-19 Wednesdays 11:00-11:45

Review of key signatures and scale triads (Major, Minor, Augmented and Diminished) seventh chords plus extensions (9th, 11th and 13th) major and minor scales and modes. Common progressions, how they function and which scales/modes work over them.


Music Theory for Adults Tuesdays 7:00-7:45

A class for adults who would like to gain an understanding of music theory. Introduction to reading notes (Treble/Bass clefs) and understanding rhythmic notation. String Ensemble For Beginners

This class is focused on sight reading, technique, listening, rhythm and playing in unison and harmony. Repertoire is a combination of Essential Elements and Suzuki.
